Dhanush Bharadwaj of Bangalore
and Chaitra Nadagowda of Belgaum are the new Karnataka State Under 7 Boys &
Girls Champions.
Yadav School of Chess of Shimoga organised
the state under 7 Boys & Girls chess championships in “Saraswathi Mandira”
Ravindranagar, Shimoga from 21st- 24th May.
Dhanush Bharadwaj of Bangalore
won the Boys title by winning 5 out of 5 games. Chaitra Nadagowda from Belgaum
also won 4 out of 4 games and clinched the girl title. Dhanush and Chaitra were
undefeated through out the championship.
Deon Ruben D'Souza of Mangalore
and Khushi Hombal of Bhadravathi settled for second place in Boys & Girls
respectively. The aforementioned players are selected to represent Karnataka
state to the forthcoming Nationals to be held in Pune from June 13th
2011.
The total cash fund
for the event was Rs 12,000/- with
21 attractive trophies also given away by the Organizers. Commonwealth
Gold Medallist Yashas D awarded the prizes to the winners.
